These days it seems like there are hacks for everything, some more useful than others. I am a fan of doing things the old fashioned way for the most part, but when I see a hack that will save me clean up time/my sanity, I am all for it. Here are a list of some great craft hacks that I have found.
Turn dried out markers into water colors.

I know us mommas have approximately 5-20 dried out markers laying around our house at any given time. Why not put them to good use my letting the ink soak out into a cup of water and using the water as watercolor paint.
Use a lint roller to pick up glitter
This one’s an oldie but a goodie. While using possibly the worlds worst creation- glitter, combat the chaos by using a lint roller to clean up the mess!
Use Glad Press and Seal to protect tables
Okay, so I haven’t actually tried this one yet, but I plan to. (I would love to hear input from moms who have) The hack is using the press and seal as a table cloth that can be removed after craft time and trashed. My oldest is out of the stage where she’s a complete disaster during crafts, but accidents happen.
Using paint in a bag for toddler finger painting
So I have used this one during my time as a preschool teacher. The kids loved it ( I did it with a class of 3-5 year olds) and there was virtually no clean up. Put a piece of paper in a Ziploc bag and squeeze out different colored paints onto the paper. Tape the bag to the table (so it doesn’t constantly slide around). You child can squish and swirl the paint around to create their own masterpiece. When they are done, but the sides of the bag and lift the top piece of plastic off and allow to dry. Don’t try to remove the painting through the top of the bag as it will just smudge the painting (learned that one the hard way.)
**Make sure not to over due it on the paint or else the paper becomes super wet to the point that it may tear**
Avoid the tantrum and snap a pic
If your children are anything like mine, then you have a boat load of artwork that are expected to be used as wallpaper throughout the entire house. I’m just going to come out and say it, some art work is better than others and while some are definitly fridge worthy, some belong in your
trash phone. Snap a picture of the artwork and upload them to a folder on your computer. That way they are always accessible for viewing and if you like, you could print them out.
Lots Of Dots

This hack was obviously made for valentines day, but it doesn’t have to be. Instead of using a cardboard heart, you could use any shape!
Food Coloring and Shaving Cream bath time fun
I did this one with my daughter when she was around age 5 and she had a blast. She had different colored cups of shaving cream (and it was mine so it smelled like strawberries) that she used to finger paint on the shower wall. It washed right off. A little bit of food coloring goes a long way so don’t use to much or you will run into the risk of it being a little hard to get off. I use the Wilton gels and just stick a toothpick in the gel and then mix in into the shaving cream.
